Just tonight, we became the owners of a mostly stock 1981 Scrambler! This one will be for my #2 son. We've got a long way to go on it, but he's 13 right now, so I've got plenty of time to do it right.

This makes Jeep #5 in the family...

Sorry for the driveway shot, but we just got it tonight and I've got to fix the steering before I can drive it.

Being as the Jeep is 20 years old, it's far from trouble free, so we'll go through it mechanically and he can learn how to wrench on it. Plus he can learn to do a bit of bodywork while we're at it.

Both are handy talents to know when you own a Jeep. I should know - I've got 5 of them now...

spwest2,

Can you give me some details about your Scrambler? My son saw the picture and wants his to look like that.

I see the shackle reversal and SOA. What diffs and gears are you running? What size tires?

just another next to the stang... as for the motor swap we transfered the wireharness from the ford and incorperated it into the jeep harness, not too bad just need to ubdertand wire diagrahms and be able to think thru it. good luck and if any probs just let me know. I have found a few problem areas that are hard to figure out. dbl check your relays and make sure they are working correctly, very important, and grounding is a must...
