Yes. Unless it was a stick. And the 4.3 tranny is the same as the SBC tranny. The difference is in the inside. The tranny for the SBC is built with stronger components. Chevy's glorious concept for saving a few bucks. <IMG SRC="smilies/rolleyes.gif" border="0">

sweet, so if i find a 700r4 off of a sbc it will bolt right up and be stronger?? <IMG SRC="smilies/biggrin.gif" border="0"> <IMG SRC="smilies/biggrin.gif" border="0">

Make sure it's off a 350 because the 4.3 will look the same but the internals are built "weaker". If I remember right the 4.3 trannies are called a 200R (maybe). Good luck.... <IMG SRC="smilies/biggrin.gif" border="0"> <IMG SRC="smilies/beer.gif" border="0">

the trannys behind the 4.3's were either the 700R4 or an NV3550. An np231 came behind the 88 trucks

you must tear it down and install a 4wd mainshaft <IMG SRC="smilies/frown.gif" border="0">

They also been known to just cut the output shaft down and dress the splines up with "machinist files".... <IMG SRC="smilies/biggrin.gif" border="0"> <IMG SRC="smilies/biggrin.gif" border="0"> <IMG SRC="smilies/beer.gif" border="0">
