What fawkin' sadistic alpha hotel designed the heater hose hookups in the 88 Trooper ? I popped one today... I _NEVER_ wanna do that job again!

Anybody else having fun replacing them ?

I took a look at it and said f-it. I put a brass Tee above the valve cover and ran 3 new hoses to the Tee. The ends that weren't behind the head initially were easy to access. I only drove it for probably 60k miles that way, so it may have had problems in the long run. It sure made my day better though as I didn't have to squeeze my fat hands behind the head.

Wish I'd thought of that!

Good idea Tad! Why didn't I think of that ? Just abandon the pipe tee behind the head... gess that's why you make the big bucks! :)

I think the same guy designed them for all motors.

Last one I did -I replaced it w/ S/S braided Earl's Performance "Speedflex"- won't have to ever replace it again.
