I plan on starting my SAS on my 92 Toy this weekend. I'm putting in a D44 with 4" wrangler springs in the front and swapping 63" chevy's into the rear. I would appreciate any hints or advice from anyone who has done a SAS and the chevy spring conversion. I'll also be left with my original 4" lift, shocks, the IFS front end, buggy leafs and folding shackles if anyone is interested?

Thanks Dan for the link, lots of helpful info. I'm having bent and wisted make my drag link and tie rod out of some half wall tubing and using f350 tie rod ends. I have a couple of quick questions though, what size tires are you running? How much lift did you get from your front springs? I'm concerned that the four inch springs I plan on using are going to be too tall, and lastly, I also plan on welding my rear diff at the same time, how does your truck do on the street and did you do it yourself? Thanks,
Jeremy

Jeremy,

The link I posted is not my site, it is Erik Beeb's. Best to email him from his site for specific Q's . I'm *still* IFS!

Oops, almost missed this one!

My truck does OK on the street with the welded rear, although it is not a daily driver. I just keep 30psi in the tires on the street, and they don't bark too bad! They are wearing a bit more than the fronts, though. I had a racecar wrench friend of mine weld it.

The front third still has the stock 4.10 ratio, but it's worthless, shredding teh ring and pinion was the final straw leading to the SAS. I already had the axle, that just gave me the motivation to finish it soon
