Everyone keeps bugging me about what we're doing for KOH this year, and now that the Jeep is in my shop I guess I can show you a little.

Highlights:
It's an LJ
It'll be on 35" tires
It'll be running a lot of products from Savvy Offroad and Currie Enterprises
It will have a lot of SFR fab work
It's gonna go fast. :flipoff2:

Just took another look at that pic I just posted. Now there is a camera angle thing happening. In that pic it still looks like it's angled, but it's not. Heres a better angle.

 I was looking at your personal logo just a couple days ago!
hey just a dumb question from the cheap seats but what the deal with the windshield frame? Do you have to have it for the rule book?

quote: I think the way the rules are written we will need little triangular nets for the area forward of that tube though. Not sure if Ultra4 rules allow it, but I noticed BJ Baldwin actually has little lexan windows there on his TT. That would be cool.

On this no you can't have lexan. And you only need nets in the front area if your hands can fly out of with the nets up.

Cool! Much better!
Looking Good Man, nice work as always.

Best of Luck,

Mike
Yep, they will be a big rectangle now. I think the way the rules are written we will need little triangular nets for the area forward of that tube though. Not sure if Ultra4 rules allow it, but I noticed BJ Baldwin actually has little lexan windows there on his TT. That would be cool.
as was stated earlier, lexan isn't allowed in the a-pillar area.

be prepared to have the driver/co-driver hop into the seat during tech to prove any chance of limbs protruding from the drivers compartment. ;)

A different approach with metal.

That's way better. Some little fixed triangle nets would look cool there. Get a somewhat tight weave net and paint sponsor logos on them and they'll be visible during the in car interview in the winner's circle.:D
Today was a good day for the brown truck. Got some pieces from Savvy Offroad and King shocks.

Also got a visit from one of santa's little helpers last night. :dustin: was kind enough to swing by Mastercraft and pick up our new Pro4 seats, and thankfully my seat mount wasn't far off at all. As I said before, seats are always a challenge to mount, and using one seat to build from, when you'll be using another can make that worse. The fact that the 2 seats, built more than 2 years apart were so close in mounting dimensions that all I had to do was slightly ream one hole says a lot about the attention to detail and QC that Mastercraft puts into these seats.
Nice work, but I like my cage better. :p
Dallas nice well thought out cleanly executed cage design as usual. Looking forward to seeing what you have in store next.

Yeah but yours was built by some joker.....oh wait, I'm that joker :flipoff2:

Worked on something other than tube work today.

Started with the Pitman Arm. John did all the steering mockup on the car, and did the first couple steps in building this thing. The first pic shows more or less how it looked when I got it. Obviously it wasn't quite complete. I started by welding the splined spud around the inside, then cut out the boxing plates on the Torchmate table and TIG'd everything together.

I also got most of the fuel cell mount done. I still have to add some little spacers at the bottom of the straps to keep the tank from shifting front to back.

Who makes that cell? Specs?

Looking good!
Wayne (ZUKIZZY) made the cell up. Dual in tank fuel pumps. The center pickup on one pump and wahlbros on the other. The 22 gallon RCI was the one that fit the best. We wanted low and back as far as possible.

Wayne really makes a nice product and we are confident we won't be having fuel issue.

Just finished up the Fuel cell mounts. It's quite secure now. Starting to do some planning for the plumbing and should be getting started on mounting the fluid coolers shortly.

Also got a box full of wiring harness from Hotwire Auto that we'll probably start test fitting in the next couple days.
