400 out the door for the three. I bought the Enfields with the idea of doing a conversion and corresponding build thread.
I had originally thought about cutting the camber off and doing a cheap 7.62x39 conversion using double stack ak mags. Then I started looking at a 30-30 round that was sitting out loose and after some comparison to the 303 Brit decided I might be better off going the 30-30 route.
SO, what would the OSR crowd do? Looking to build a kickass unique truck gun.

I saw that, but that's pretty involved for a truck gun. After poking around Google last night I found some pictures of a 5.56 bolt head for an Enfield. It seems like alot of people do a 45/70 conversion and several kits and prebuilt rifles are available; 45/70 would take the fun out of it for me.

if it were me...

I would look at what common calibers I already own and see about converting to those.
For me that would be
5.45, 5.56, 7.62x39, 7.62x51

I have been led to believe that the Enfield in 303 might not be safe converted to 308, that is why the 1960's ishapores are/were the only ones. But the 7.62x54r could make a great 308, if a new bolt face is possible.

Well we turned the shoulder off the .303 brit barrel. I tried several ways to remove it to no avial. We were careful and the Brit barrel would still be salvageable for a cheap 7.62x39 conversion.

45/70 is a little heathy for me for a truck gun. But a suppressed 45/70 sounds interesting.......

I've got a handful of pictures if someone wants to post them. I decided to go with the x39 conversion using 10rd double stack ak mag(unmodified). I've got the mag fitted and latching and the parts for the bolt head are in the mail.
