OK I searched first... But I can't find any info on this. Will 1st Gen. 4Runner sport seats fit a 81 pickup? The counter guy at the junkyard says NO... I don't mind drilling extra holes...

Has anyone else ever tried this? I'm looking for nice seats without spending to much. These seats are $175 for the pair and are pretty nice.

the newer seats have a thicker back support. so you will lose some leg room. But they will work.

You should be able to make almost anything fit. I ran Fiat X-1/9 seats in my '83 for years. Now I have some really comfortable seats from a Mitsubishi Conquest. $175 for used seats sounds kinda pricey to me. Around here it's usually 50-60 per pair (you pull'em), 70-80 if they pull'em.

I swapped in seats from an '88 Camry into my '81 Toyota. drilled new holes and bolted them in. $15 each and U-Pull-It

4Runner seats have one different bolt hole due to the tilt and slide. They will fit, anything can fit. I had Jeep Grand Cherokee leather seats in my truck for awhile.
