shackles (look at link)

what is on these shackles. i keep seeing these, what are they for?

Not to bag on AOR but just to give you another option, Way Off Road sells casters for shackles too and they are all metal construction and less expensive. Kevin Grove (from AOR) was the first person that -I- ever saw do this though, so I have to give him props for that.

Thanks for the response AOR, I didn't realize that. I guess that more work goes into these than I thought. I was under the impression that you just needed to bolt on a longer lower shackle bolt and get it.

Well why do you have that big ol' Bull Bar on the front of your truck that hangs way down? Wouldn't you have more clearance and a better approach angle with an All-Pro style bumper? (Just playing Devil's Advocate)

The rollers are only 3 1/2 inches in diameter and they are mounted through the bolt of the shackle, so they will only hang down about an inch. The idea is that you can ROLL off of rocks instead of burying your shackle into them. Somehow I have a feeling that you already knew that though...
