I just finished reinstalling my 205 behind a 435 and 203 using the WMS adapters. I had them machine the 203 - 205 adapter so that the 205 would be clocked up flat. Anyways, This is a Ford 205 case, so now with the transmission and cases installed and raised into position, the large "chunk" on the drivers side of the case is right under where i will be sitting. In fact , it sticks up so high that i may have to raise the seat an inch or two if the 205 isnt modified.

So this brings me to my question... Has anyone ever "shaved" the mounting lug off of the top left side of the case to clear their seat?

I would only be taking about one inch off and there looks to be plenty of meat there so it should not affect strength of the case...

thanks

never shaved it, but I hope you have some sort of mounts on there to stop the case from trying to turn (rotate). Thats what that mount does in a factory application and I've seen 205s break right of transmissions because of not having that mounted there. I'm not familiar with the adapters you used so this might be a moot point.

Ive seen a factory style mount that goes from that "lug" on the side of the case to the bellhousing to prevent it from ripping off forwards or backward. Ive never seen a 205 that twisted itself away from the adapter though.

thanks
