120K on the clock. Impeccable maintenance from the dealer. Didn't even use oil! Now this sound. Recent timing belt. Driving 50 mph and all of a sudden this awful sound. Runs decent, but something is bad. I removed the timing covers to observe the tensioner is doing its job too. Take a listen to this 90 second clip and chime in one what you think it might be!

Wrist pin sounds promising, rebuild how much?

Wrist pin does make more sense. Not loud enough to make me think Rod knock. And considering consistent maintenance with these miles, the rod knock seems extreme. AND, I can't tell if it's left or right side, eliminating drivetrain problems. Either way, it sounds like the engine comes out, but maybe the heads can stay on! I'll just unload the pistons from the bottom and examine them.
While in there, perhaps put in some fresh crank and rod bearings.
Any warnings or advice on this 3.5? Things to avoid, parts you'd recommend?
thanks,
Scott
