K&N makes an adapter that's made just for that reason. I don't have the part # handy though. My Weber has an adapter that allows me to use the stock air filter housing which simplified my snorkel installation.

SO here is how mine turned out.

It is hard PVC from the inner fenderwell up.

I took the rubbermaid container and traced out the top of my Weber and then cut it out. The factory weber base plate fits inside and bolts to the top of the carb. Can use stock aircleaner and everything. I also routed my front diff breather in there to. I do have a little air restriction due to the 2" pipe. SO I usually run it with the top off when not in water. Otherwise works real good.

I plan on adding a snorkel after I go to 'glass fenders...my new aircleaner box is now on the passenger fender and already has a cutout for snorkel attachment......love those engine swaps... <IMG SRC="smilies/blender.gif" border="0">

TWM makes one and I know Downey used to sell one too. It's an aluminum plenum. You bolt the bottom plate to the top of the carb and then the plenum part on top of that. It has a ovalish shaped opening that you run a hose to. They work great, I did a blow through turbo with one. you can try to rig up something but for the money I would just buy one of these.

I was trying to figure out how I was going to put a snorkle on my weber, and was thinking about having a shop make some sort of piece which would bolt on in place of the air cleaner with a fitting to hook a pipe up to it.......but I never got that far.

A friend of mine tried to use a small coffie can but ths soft plastic top sucked in. I think a thicker plastic container would hold together.
