Ok, I want to get a couple air solenoid, but I am hopelessly confused.

I have 3/8 I.D. goodyear hose. I have been attaching this to barbed fittings that leave me wtih a threaded end, 1/4" NPT.

I have no idea what that means. Where does the 1/4" come from? What is NPT...

But what really confises me, is these solenoids.
http://www.macvalves.com/products.htm I have been told to get the 35 series. But they are 1/8" NPT, and I dont know where to get fittings that are 1/8"... What the fuck.... Can someone please explain what the hell I need to do, because I am lost.

You should be able to get a 3/8" hose barb with 1/8" NPT pipe thread at your local hardware store. If you can't find any you can order a pkg of 10 from McMaster-Carr Search for Brass Hose Nipple

What are you using them for? A 1/8" valve in a 3/8" line is a pretty big restiction.

Pipe is sized by nominal inside diameter; a 1/4" schedule 40 pipe has aproximately a 1/4" ID. However, for a given size pipe, the outside diameter remains the same (if you have a thicker wall, such as a schedule 80, the ID is smaller).
