Thats too cool. I was looking at a 4x4 grey market tractor that my father-in-laws neighbor got and had that thought in my head... hmm would that work in a buggy? Looks like it does!!

Its a totally different portal design compared to the Unimog or Volvo portals.

Is the rod bent in pic #76? or is that just my eyes?

Later.

looksl ike tons of fun man!

Is that a worm screw or a hydrostatic drive?
More info?

Of course! Bolt a Saginaw power steering box to the bottom of the axle tubes! Why didn't I think of that? :flipoff2:

Some really cool rigs there!!! But every time I see pics from overseas, I can't help but wonder if some those guys build their rigs to be as ugly as possible - downright FUNKY! :D

As ugly as possible.....hmmmmm. Well the feeling is sometimes same in here, when looking to your countrys direction:D :D :D

And some cars might not look so nice cause all off roaders ain't that good doing things or don't have the money to buy bolt on parts.
Where are those comps held in Finland? I've got family out there. I think in Sotkomo (sp?)? The only thing I know about the town is they have an underground, year-round ski track.

Yep that's in way up in north, Lapland...well at least to me it's Lapland cause I live in Helsinki area in the south of Finland:D :D

The closest (about 200km) competition to them is held at 6th of September in Polvijärvi in North-Karelia. Bigger town close to that is Joensuu. Competition is held very very close to Huhmari, that is "holiday village" with restaurant, cabins, pools and sauna etc.

Most of the competitions are held below mid-Finland.

Jare,
Sorry, I didn't mean to offend. In fact, YOUR rigs have been some of the smoothest, best looking I've seen (even compared to over here).

I realize that some people may not have the money to invest, but I meant to speak of some of the tube work which seemed to be really out of place. Functional, perhaps, but odd looking (to me anyways). At the risk of sticking my foot in my mouth even further, #43 strikes me as an example of something that is "different".

Again, no offense meant.

Pic 43... this one??

Well I know it sure ain't the prettiest one, but you were talking about the tube work and can't find nothing wrong with this car....well maybe the exhaust tubes.

Or are you refering to our Moggsters front tubes?

They are made for Norwegian and Swedish trials. They have had many times places that has big stone beside a tree and you have to squeze....actually crawl other tyres over the rock and same time tubes/cage leans against the tree. In this case these tubes helps not to roll your car between the tree and rock. You know what I mean?? :D :D :D

Are these fake wood panels on the side of this rig ?!?!
If so, I have a new respect for the sense of humor in our Finnish counterparts.
