I haven't posted since my intro but I have some recent pics of my project:

Who can ID this engine? :)

Some trimming required to fit Toy 5 speed with dual cases (also running 1 set of 4.7 gears)

WTF are these? :D

Quick size up:
Rims are placed where they'd roughly sit. WMS width is 1760mm!!

That's it for now. Stay tuned.

Lookin PHAT. Looking forward to seeing it come together.

You got 36" SXs recently didn't u? Why not something a bit bigger?

U figured out what you are doing with the chopped cab?

I think I am suppose to put some BS about newbie status in here somewhere...

Thanks Damo. Yes I bought theshedguy's 36" Swampers. Didn't wanna go bigger cos I don't need to to get the clearance. Gonna keep it low as possible. Also don't wanna risk busting my CVs. I have a rough idea about the cab - probably do similar method to Root Moose's extra cab. How's your LWB project?

the engine is a 215 or 230 cid aluminum block olds v8 well thats who made it first in the early 60's then land rover and range rover bought the rights and thats the original engine that all the range rover v8's are based from...then triumph made a limited edition TR-8 which featured this engine with a 5 speed there were only 5000 tr8 models imported to the usa ..I had one of these engines in a 67 corvair and it ran reverse rotation and it put out 292hp at 8200 rpm it was a nasty little flat tappet 13-1 motor that ran 11.70 in the 1/4 mile in sacramento my uncle built these motors back in the 70's and early 80's for the offshore boat racing guys ...they would run a twin engine direct drive prop class where one of the motors would be built identical but built reverse rotation ...throttle steer... they set their rev limiters at 9200 rpm so the motors wouldnt grenade when the boat jumped the waves and the props came out of the water....the bottom ends were bullet proof nothing was ever done to the crank and rods other than arp bolts and balancing and a hi volume oil pump
good motor i hope i answered your question email me if you have any others
