short of tearing the fucker apart and measuring them ?? 74 ih 1200 front Dana 44..Need stub shaft lenth too.. Could I be so lucky for them to be the same lenth as scout II. Looking for spares, and ...Maybe Warns' ??

No results on "SEARCH":D

Stubs are either 19-spline Chevy/dodge/FSJ/everythign else

Or 27-spline Scout II stubs. I know the '74 1/2Ts are SII 27spline units, but I haven't opened up my '74 200 4x4 front end to see if the 3/4Ts got the same.

They might've, since they have the external style hubs, too.. so it's *probably* a Scout II stub.

Yup, I know for a fact the stubs are 19 spline. Just hoe the lenth is the same as the 27 spline offering.. Looking for lenths on them so, hopefully I can order soe Warns on Monday without tearing it apart to get the lenths.. Then again, guess better safe than sorry..In we go..:D I'd hate to guess and get the wrong Sheet....

Book shows overlap, 71 1/2 through 74 has one set of numbers, 73 1/2 through 75 a different set

71 1/2 through 74
Right 17 49/64
Left 36
Stub 8 51/64

73 1/2 through 75
Right 18 9/64
Left 35 41/64
Stub 8 51/64


All outers 19 sp all inners 30

These specs for 200 axle, didn't crossreference the 1/2 ton

If you give me BOM I can clarify which series you have



Scout II

Right 14 25/32
Left 32 29/32
Stub 8 23/32

outers 27 sp, inners 30

Thats what I read from the book, Dana F&R axle kit 67-78 fwiw

I tried using the Dana Expert but had no luck.. Gonna keep at it but in the interum the info from you would be great !!

603478-3 is the later axle, the 73 1/2 through 75.
Ratio is 3.73
From my book it looks like outers from 1/2 tons or SII's won't work.

How much tolerance is allowed for both inner and outter shafts ?? Am I pretty much doomed in reguards to factory trail spares then ?? Hoping you guys here might have a source for them.. Sure would rather have 27 spline outters.... Doomed to warn blanks then off to Dutchman then ?? Is there an alternative to this ?? SHORT OF NOT BREAKING THEM...
