I searched but only came up with usa 6x6 so they were pretty old threads.


Where is everyone getting their one piece Rockwell boots from these days?

Whats up with the yellow one's?
Think im going back with the leather ones. Ive been threw 3 sets of the one peice in 4yrs.
And no they dont get hit by any rock. My rim cover them pretty good.

wouldn't it be a lot more simpile to get sealed u-joints and not even run boots?
It has to do with the fact that the oil from the differential will run out. Eventhough there is a seal there, I wouldn't count on it holding a lot of oil in. IIRC, it has to do with the axle joints not quite beign in the same plane as the kingpin and when turning, the axle shaft will not stay in the center and allow the oil to bypass the seal. Then again, I may be completely off base I just remember reading something about it and that Randy at OEM was working on a solution to the problem. Whatever it might be.

The way always understood it is that there is no seal on the back of the spindle to keep stuff out of the hub.

I contacted Ouverson and he has the one piece boots for sale. I will be getting a set from him.

Tom Coder at CSI, INC. 770-445-0455 has the yellow boots as well as any other parts I have needed for my Rockwell's. I don't believe they have anything aftermarket but all my parts have been new, not used. Jim
