I read a few pages of threads on installing spools and I didn't find what I was looking for. When you replace an open carrier with a spool all you need to do is set up the backlash right? Am I correct in assuming that the pinion depth won't change because you're using the same gears and that carriers are all machined to precise tolerences? So spooling my rear end is just gonna cost a spool and a gallon of gear oil... right? TIA
