well after getting stuck with only one wheel spinning with my zexel torsen ive decided that i need to get the rear end locked up. getting a locker isnt an option because of the pricetag, so i think a spool is my only real alternative. im not too educated on them, so if someone could help me it would be appreciated. what is the difference between a mini spool and a spool? do i use my stock differential with one? anyone actually have one that they drive on the road? how bad do the tires chirp when turning? once again, thanks guys!

A spool replaces the carrier and you will need to reset the ring and pinion.
A mini spool replaces the spider gears inside the carrier, therefore it is weaker because it uses the stock carrier.
With a mini spool the initial cost is cheaper and the ring & pinion dont have to be reset saving money there also.

I have a spool (actually welded) rear end adn it chirps and squeels around every turn and balds the tires pretty quickly, kinda suckes on a daily driver but when im offroad it more than makes up for it.

If you have a 10 bolt rear end I wouln NOT waist money on anything for it, but rather save money for a stronger rear end.;)

OH Yea, welcome newbie:flipoff2:

well its only gonna have to turn 31x11.5 LTBS which ive already got on it. i dont really plan on going any bigger i just dont want to get stuck again with only one tire spinning..ive been told that neither will work because of the axles being held in by c-clips, is this true? o, and thanks for the kind welcoming :D

Do what he said :flipoff2: weld them spider gears together...most it will cost you is a few bucks from a machine shop if you dont have someone who knows how to weld.

you can find pics all over the web on what to do about welding the spider gears
