Well guys, I could really use some help, I am wanting to keep the power rear window on my Sport Trac functional but I need some help with the wiring. I am planning on using DPDT switches for the door windows, they are just two wire reversing motors. Simple. But the rear window motor has 8 wires going to it. For the life of me I can't figure out why it needs 8 wires, but if any body has access to a wiring schematic and can tell me what all those wires are for it would help me out immensly. The wire collors are:
yellow w/ green stripe
black w/ pink stripe
tan w/black stripe
purple w/ lt. blue stripe
purple w/ lt. green stripe
yellow w/ red stripe
black w/ white stripe
black

I lloked at the Ford wiring diagrams and tried to copy but the Ford website won't let me do that:mad3: Anyhow Sport Tracs also have a vent feature that's why there's the extra wiring and a module attached to the motor at the slider.

Thanks for all the help guys. I learned about the vent feature and all the extra bullshit, so I removed the motor assembly, dissambled it, and replaced the motor housing with a spare door window motor housing. So now it's just a two wire set up.

Would you be able to provide part numbers for what you did? For the motor you used?

I just removed a door window motor from the gearbox on the same vehicle and installed it on the gearbox for the rear window. No part numbers though.
