I don't know about that size in particular, but I get all of my metal from Metal Supermarkets in Hayward. They are on Industrial and will cut to length for very reasonable prices.

I usually go to ALCO in San Leandro. It's on Doolittle at Davis, just west of 880. They have some new stuff but mostly scrap and they're open til 1 on Saturday

Pleasanton Steel is another option. A 3x3 ID I would think is not going easy to find since box usaully come in OD size. There is a fabricator in WC by the cement plant on N Main who could probably set you up.

Ya so I guess that 3.5" x 3.5" x .250" wall wouldn't work because he wants 3" ID.

Thanks Mr.Canada, I didn't know the three places mentioned have vastly increased their inventory. Last time I went to them they pretty much carried standard stuff, like 2x2 and 2x4 in .125 wall. This is really going to help this guy out since he only needs a foot and special orders are going to minimum of a whole stick.
Keep up the good work! Next time your in town checking inventories I'll buy ya a beer.
