Here's a situation I've never seen anyone mention... I'm converting the plain gages in my 89 p/u to SR5 gages. I found some in a "local" yard and was excited to install them. Well, something I didn't notice when I bought them was there was no place to plug the speedo cable in. Evidently, I've made a big mistake. Is there any way to convert this cluster, or should I seach for another. Everything works except the speedo and 4WD indicator light. I'm guessing that autos have some sort of electronic speed sensor... If there is no way to convert these, I guess they'll be for sale.

Is there any way to ID a set of gages (4 vs. 6 cyl) if they are out of the truck already?

Thanks... a very frustrated, erin

erin----I have a 92 and it has the "electronic" speedo... I have been thinkin' about getting the SR5 cluster like you have....if it doesn't work for you then give me your best price and if agreeable, I would like you to send it to me and then I could send the check. I have a reputation so I don't stiff people.

ps--did you get the oil pressure sender when you got the SR5 cluster?

Zuk,

Yes, I bought the oil pressure sending unit. Everything works great except the speedo and 4WD indicator <IMG SRC="smilies/frown.gif" border="0">

I guess I'll have to sell it. $60 + shipping. Hopefully, I can find one w/out the electric speedo. Let me know.
