at this point in time i have no way of gettin 220 but i would like to know who makes good 110 stick welders.
All of the Maxstar 200 series use essentially the same basic power supply and are limited by the amperage rating of the power supply cord (35A) with 115V, they all (STR, SD, LX and DX) are rated at 125A at 25V with a 50% Duty Cycle in 115V SMAW mode. GTAW mode will get you 150A at 16V with a 70% Duty Cycle in all 4 versions of the Maxstar 200.Miller's Maxstar 150 S is a nice machine that will do 110v stick to 100amp or 220v stick to 150amps. The maxstar 200STR will do stick to 150amps on 110v.
You are going to find the same problems with any 110v machine be it stick or mig. The lack of input juice is going to seriously limit the power output. Most machines give you about the same 90-100 amps output on 110v with stick with the exception of the Maxstar 200 STR. Even the Tig/stick units like the Maxstar 200DX, 200LX or 200SD only go to 90amps stick on 110v so does the dynasty DX (105 amps stick on 110v).
Good luck.
