I am thinking about running a dana 300 instead of my 205 behind my 6.0 liter th350, 2.7 crawl box to the 300. Will be running dana 60 14 bolt combo with 42's. I have never ran a dana 300 so now Im trying to research?
Thanks Brandon

After you upgrade to 32 spline outputs and 4:1 gears the case becomes the weak link. Then you get to go to call up Stakk for their replace a case. At that point you are within a few hundred dollars of an atlas. Plus with the 300 you are stuck with 23 spline input so you'll have to be careful with the stupid pedal connected to that 6.0.

I'd stick with the 205 or step up...

Either way I will b running 23 spline out of my Transmission to my crawl box. I have been running that spline out of my th350 and a crawl box for a few years in the old Bronco Chassis. I just really like the size of the 300 and not wanting to do a 4:1 in it, but your saying I will definetely have to do 32 spline outputs?

I wouldn't even place them in the same league. Nothing on the D300 is comparable to a 205. Not that it's a bad case but if you're looking for a junkyard case... I'd run the 205. A mini stak would have to be damn close to a full-tilt D300

The 205 is a stronger t-case than the Dana300 and even the atlas. Has a higher GVWR. I love my 3:1 kit in my 205.
