I was curious if Ford listed the axles as assemblies, and looked in an online parts catalog. Parts for the F250 and F350, especially SRW, are pretty much lumped together.
Looking, there are two front axle housings, front axle shafts, front hubs, rear hubs, and rear housings.

Is there a significant difference between these components? The price difference is significant and if there is a difference, how can you tell? Unfortunately, while FCA has window stickers to 2013 and build-sheets into the 1990s online, Ford doesn't.
