OK, with all the talk of Super swamper SSR's and SX's was wondering if anyone had any problems with the TSL 39.5's 15" size on a 6000 # rig?
I just might run these and a set of AT's of some kind for the street.

39.5 TSL's for the trail... the only AT tire you are going to find is a 35x12.50.. thats gonna look real small if you got the room for 39's.... unless you went with parnelli jones dirt grips.. those come in as big as 38's, but they have a REAL heavy price tag.. so I don't know how anyone could afford a set of 39.5 TSL's and 38" PJ's.... no way! you would be out about 2500 in just tires!

Funny,
I'm actually doing the same thing. 35"s will look pretty small, but it's not like we have a 12" lift for 39.5"s and then 35"s for the street. It's more like 4 to 5" lift with a lot of fender chop to fit the 39.5"s.

But hey, who says we're building for looks <IMG SRC="smilies/smile.gif" border="0">

Yeah, currently I am running 37" SSR radials and they look OK as far as that goes, price is a factor but the 39.5's would be for the trail only so I would think they would last a long time even if they wore out in 20,000 miles and ethier way I have to have tires for the street (Trying to convince myself).
My problem is that if I get tires in the spring they are great for that summer but by next summer they don't have much tread left and they are still radials, would like to have some dedicated off-road tires that have tread. <IMG SRC="smilies/biggrin.gif" border="0">

im running 39.5x15's right now, make sure you got a good tight steering... they are pretty hard to balance... i used equal shot in the tires.... i love the size and they bite great

interco might have built these other tires to sell more in the show department, cant blame em for makin a buck...

if it didn't come from they're site, i'd a thought it was some photoshop sillyness...wonder if they'll make 'em in colors <IMG SRC="smilies/question.gif" border="0"> the mall-crawlers want some to match the <IMG SRC="smilies/rainbow.gif" border="0"> colored winch's that Ramsey sells! <IMG SRC="smilies/grinpimp.gif" border="0">

why not get some custom rims made up and use OTR tractor tires ...... get 20" rims and a set of triple treads and you'll never wear them out....... <IMG SRC="smilies/biggrin.gif" border="0">
( or if they do wear eventually,,,,,, retread! )
some of the smaller sizes have got to be close in dia. to a 39.5" swamper.. <IMG SRC="smilies/biggrin.gif" border="0">

Steve, where the hell did you get a dumb-ass idea like this? I saw a guy that did this once with 35s for street tires, they looked like doughnut spares. 'Course the rest of the guys rig wasn't exactly show quality, either.

BFG is offering/supposed to offer 37s and maybe larger in the new mud terrains. Maybe get some of those for your current 16" Aluminums, and then get some 15" beadlocks (like all the cool kids are running) for the TSLs.

Believe me, I wish I could. Its gonna be a while, though. Before I can step up to the 44s, I need to finish the body mods, get a new tranny, hydraulic assist steering, more gear reduction, new hubs, pass emmisions, new tags, and probably a few more things I'm forgetting. Compounding the problem is the fact that I'm piss poor at the moment and don't have time to work on it.

I love the white walls on the new swamper all terrain I think they will look awesome on my Jeep do they make them in 30x9.50?? I think they might be a little extreme compared to my BFG AT's but I think Ill give them a try cause I can always throw my BFG's back on <IMG SRC="smilies/smile.gif" border="0">

I was really dissapointed in the lack of white letters when I got my swampers. However after a couple hours with the Krylon and stencil kit, they look sharp as hell now.
