I got this forwarded to me:
you asked if 7mge and 7mgte have the same bellhousing, yes they do. we put a turbo in a non turbo supra 88 with an automatic with out a problem, so that tells me its the same.
good luck

They do have different trannies. Non turbo has a W series (W58) while the turbo engine has a R tranny (R154) behind it.

if your wondering if a turbo trans will bolt up to a non turbo engine or the other way around i think you worded your question wrong. i would think that the turbo trans would be stronger thus be difrent even though it probaly will still have the same bolt patern as the non turbo trans.
like the 22ret trans has the same bolt patern as the 22re and 22r even though its a difrent trans.

I'm looking for some help.
I have an 89 toyota supra 7mgte manual . I want to put the engine in my 4x4 toyota truck W56 5 speed trans. What bellhousing do I need ? I've searched and found conflicting information. A salvage yard here has an 87 supra 7mge (non turbo )with manual trans.
I'd love a little help here.

7mge and 7mgte have the same bellhousing bolt pattern but they have different trans. For your 7mge, take the bellhousing that came with it(w58) and put in on your w56. Use the 7mge flywheel, pressure plate, t/o bearing, and cluch fork. Then use the mini truck clutch disc.

splines and pilot bearing are the same for a 7mge and a 4cyl manual truck/4runner trans.
you want the NA supra bell houseing, it will bolt to the GTE engine and the mini truck tranny. then you use all GE supra clutch components.

Good luck finding a clutch that will hold the 7mgte torque. I blew right threw Marlins super heavy duty clutch with the max pressure plate at 13 lbs of boost' AA makes an adapter that will take the N/A bellhousing and bolt it to a R151 trans. They make better performance clutches for the R series trans
