a friend of mine has an 89 yota truck with
a 5speed . he want to yank it and drop in a yota v6 . can this happen ? and what in general needs to be changed for this to bolt up ?

I think most people on here will agree that a yota v6 is too much work. If you're going to do all that work and are stuck on a v6 go with the 4.3.......it makes more hp anyways. There's tons of info about the 4.3 swap on here.

I did this swap in my '83. You will either need a v6 tranny or a v6 bellhousing will bolt up to a turbo tranny. I am really happy with my engine!!

A 4.3 vortec is a good V6 but the 7m-ge toyota inline 6 puts out about the same HP. I think the I6 would be better than the toy V6 and comperable to the 4.3 V6
