I am selling the 89 4Runner, and the guy might want automatic locking hubs. Can I take the automatic locking hubs off of my 90 4Runner and put them on the 89 model. I wanted the manual locking hubs on the 90 model anyways. TIA.

I am not sure. I will look this afternoon, but knowing my luck, they are ADD. Is there a swap for ADD to a manual locking hub?

Actually if they are ADD they are a simple, direct swap. Just unbolt the ADD flanges, remove the cone washers, the axle retaining bolt and washer, and put the manual hub body on. Put the bolt back in, then the hub cover and you're done.

If you have auto hubs (or need more info), there are some articles in the 4x4Wire Toyota Tech Section on hubs and swaps.
