What case should I put new gears in , the front case or rear case?

What are you running and why ?

Putting them in the rear case is what is usually recommended by Marlin, [email protected], etc. That way the rear case only sees the 2.28:1 reduction in front of it (plus the tranny, derrr) instead of the 4.7 gearset.

putting them in teh front case just makes more torque going into the second input shaft, which at least an 8yr old shaft, possibly up to 23yrs old

with all this said, i run my 4:1 in the front case... but that's for an entirely different reason... and i don't run a toy rear case :D
