after striping my ring gear,when reinstalling my r/D shaft after new ring and pinions. i noticed that the output shaft to the t/case wiggles about 1/8th inch or more up and down,side to side, is this normal?i have a vibration only when costing at high speed.is this the reason? thanx <IMG SRC="smilies/beer.gif" border="0"> <IMG SRC="smilies/usa.gif" border="0">

Do you mean the the output shaft is wiggleing up and down in the case? Or is it the normal play that is in the d-shaft? Did you check to make sure that the d-shaft flange nut on the t-case was tight. When I blew the R&P at JV this year and I kept on driving it back to camp the nut backed off a bit and the flange was loose and had slop in it.

yes in the t/case.

pretty sure it is normal, give marlin a call if nobody give you an answer - www.marlincrawler.com. Tell him brandon miller suggested you ask him, just don't tie him up on the phone for too long <IMG SRC="smilies/smile.gif" border="0">

I thought I had a bit too much slop in mine once. I bought a new nut and retorqued it. that was a couple of years ago and I haven't had any problems since.
