i have a 80 toy tcase in my zuki. i work at NAPA and looked up the front tcase seal for the output shaft. it just listed one. when i got the front flange off,,there is a felt seal in the front and a oil seal behind it. whats the point of the front seal?its just a piece of felt.also, can i replace the rear seal from the front,or do i need to remove the housing and install the seal from the rear? thanks

so your not a bum anymore :flipoff2:

i believe the felt seal is just a dust collector/cover to protect the seal behind it.

i always just pull those four bolts out and do them both.
there is actually the oil seal, the felt, and the metal ring retainer in there.
sack up and go do the stealer for the parts.
