I was just wondering if older (1990) YJ TF-999 automatics have lockout's or do they always slip? Also what are the wires for that come off the side of the tranny, under the shift fork (driverside)? Im assuming its for backup lights...? Thanks for any help.

the wires are for backup lights and nuetral saftey switch.

it might or not be lock up converter, I cant tell you without looking at the input shaft on the tranny.

I just dont know in those years what they were using.

I would assume its a lockup, but thats just reasoning that they need all the fuel economy they could get.

Went to Don's auto today... they suck. They said it would take them 7 days to get the flexplate for the heep.. so I went to autozone and will have it in two days.. for cheaper than dons.. Dons wanted 60 bucks for the flexplate and autozone charged 47.... not too bad.. talk to you later...
