I was installing a shift kit for a customer today. It was the b&m shift improver kit with the heavyduty and street and strip. He wanted the street & strip, anywase in the instructions it has you take out the accumulater spring in the valve body, and reassemble the piston without it, what does this do? Sorry for the lame question just seems that is a really stiff spring to just be absent in a juice box....

The spring is just a cushion to soften the shift...no spring and the accumulator is now no longer in the circuit so fluid applies pressure to the circuit immediately.
I'm no tranny expert but I believe thats what/why they have you remove it. You can leave it in I believe to set it up for heavy duty/rv use. I have set up shift kits many ways and this seems to hold true on the Turbo 350's and 400's I've put kits in...
