If you don't get involved and support the cause then the other guy will win They will keep fighting us until they win and once they do you can almost never get it changed back, so fight now and fight hard.

Most people think they need to spend hours fighting these groups to make a difference. Not true!!! If people would write two letters a month, (which would take all of twenty minutes for both)that would make a major difference in how we are heard!!!

I believe there is a change in our country taking place (and we already see part of it due to events that have happened on 9/11). Such as new rules and laws being enacted to fight terrorism, whether they are of domestic or international causes, and due to these changes, we, the american citizens will have them used against us with or without our knowledge by those who wish to.... I personally thinked we're fawked !.... 'em - damn greenies !

Two things these groups have going for them is organization and a good rapport (sp?) with the media. A lot of us as off roaders think a "Calvin pissin on Sierra Club" makes a difference.(bad approach IMO anyway) It takes a lot more.

You can't be heard unless you say something.

You think you can't afford $20 to join a few groups (CORVA and Blue Ribbon Coalition), you can't afford not to. Read their newsletters and you'll realize how far behind we really are. I am actually considering not putting lockers in the 40 because IMHO they're gonna be useless soon. 7,500 registered members on this board and the response to the trail closure issue is PATHETIC. When you're sitting around lamenting the loss of the trails and a big guy comes over, points in your face and laughs, that'll be me. Do you know that thier master plan is to return 1/3 to 1/2 of America back to pre-European wilderness with NO human access??? The fawked part is that it has started, they're well funded and they're winning. So while you're yacking away on general chit-chat and debating which lockers to put in the trails are going away. It's fourth down and long and if you don't get in the game now it isn't going to matter.

Well, about a year ago, I argued with many on this board, that way too many of you ahd all of your hopes, riding on, the fact that, unless Bush got elected, their was no reason to even buy a 4x4. Dont get me wrong, I think Bush is doing a fine job, at the time. But I told you that no President was gonna come to our aid, no party is going to come to our aid, and almost no industry is gonna come to our aid, they will all sell out the off roaders to make gains in areas that will turn a profit.
Well now maybe you can see that we are on our own, and need to roll up our sleeves. We need to be better organized, and you need to donate some coin to orginizations like the Blue Ribbon Coalition.
Somehow we really need to change our image also.

Exactly. We are too busy fighting each other whereas these groups are united for one cause. These people are nothing more than us, they are people banding together for a cause. We have the same right.

The enviro groups, to a point, are fighting for a good cause. It is just that it has come to affect us becuase we sat on our asses for too long. To steal the line, Put Up or Shut Up!

Calvin pissing on the Sierra Club won't solve any problems, but it makes me feel better. The Garden of Eden sticker is the most politically correct and effective message.

What really pisses me off more than enviro-wackos is off-roaders that blatantly throw trash out thinking someone else will pick it up. Your Mama isn't on the trail with you, so pick it up yourself. We don't need to give the greenies any more ammo than they already have...
