Hi,

Funny, I just installed a replacement windscreen frame after sandblasting, powdercoating and oilwaxing. I noticed three small holes on each side and at the outside of the frame. In the frame which was on the BJ40 they were probably sealed with something. What is the use of these holes ? Will it allow water to get in ? Rust ? We are in the UK for the moment (Wet). Does anybody knows the idea behind these holes. Do I seal them ?

Thanks,

Walter

Dont know the reason, but if they do go into the channel I would seal em up. To bad its allready powdercoated, would have been nice the weld em shut! IMO :D

my 66 FJ40 has several small holes in the windshield frame for wiring. Some for wiper motors, and courtesy light. They are all rubber grommetted before passing wire through. I further sealed them with black RTV sealant - just in case!
