Should there be a gap between the throttle plate and t-body housing in the idling position or should there be no gap? I could see light shining through all around the throttle plate after cleaning. Thanks for any replies.

All around as in full circle, even right by the shaft? Any chance the throttle body was machined at some point in time and a stock size valve plate was put back in?

This is possible. However,
it is true, that the AIR plate,
when at rest, provides minimal
air intake - immediately around
the flow plate, intentionally.
Learned this the hard way, on a
nissan Z motor problem i was
having years ago.

Hi Shane. I believe it's all stock considering all the gunk I cleaned out of it but I'll ask the guy I bought it from though. Going to try the EFI conversion again using a later intake plenum and t-body.
