hey folks.... i've got a 99 tacoma v6 with around 70k miles on it. is there any recommendation on when to change the timing chain? i changed the chain a nissan i had at 70-80k, but i know that's because of the low clearance engine in the nissan, buti'm not sure about the tacoma. thanx in advance

I am pretty sure you have a timing BELT and I believe Toyota recommends changing it at 90K. Call your local dealer to make sure. Genuine Toyota timing belts are usually pretty reasonable.

I think the owners manual says your engine has a belt and it should be changed around 90k depending on the kind of miles and driving you put on your truck.

Yes, your V6 3.4L Tacoma has a timing belt, not chain. And you should probably have it changed around 80-90k
