I'm leaning toward dropping an AOD behind the 302 in my '97 (I need the OD). Anybody have any hints for building it? The 302 will be mostly stock, and it'll be backed by an NP205/Rockwells/16R20's. Right now, all I'm planning is a quality rebuild with a low-stall converter and the wide-ratio gearset. Any input greatly appreciated!

its hard to explain but you take the smallest shaft sticking out the front and cut it flush with the other rotating shaft sticking out the front, and then weld the small shaft to it. in a mustang doing this you can scratch 4th gear. basicly it takes away the lock up functions.

Oh i almost forgot if you replace the clutch packs run type F fluid instead of mercron, mercron has friction modifiers that increase slippage through the gears and type F does not.
