my 81 truck was fine on 33x12.50x15s with stock gears....just used a sledgehammer on my front inner fenders (firewall area) and it was fine...went way more places than my 31s before with way less axle dragging.
Besides, you'll be wanting 35s soon anyways. Been there, done that!
Either way, be sure to feel the sidewall thickness as the cheaper tires are ususally thinner there. BFGs are decent for radial sidewall strength, but could be better. Goodyears sidewalls sucked on their MTs! Supposedly the new MTRs are lots better, but I don't know anybody that runs em to find out.
