Working on a front 3-link and pushed the axle forward a couple inches. It's clear that the upper spring bucket needs to move forward as well.

What is everyone doing? Cutting it off (carefully) and sliding it forward? The only mount I've found that looked like it may work was from Ballistic

D30 - I'd rather not move the coil buckets on the axle back... I'm not planning on using this axle forever and would like to keep it as resellable as possible.

TJ upper spring mount

Working on a front 3-link and pushed the axle forward a couple inches. It's clear that the upper spring bucket needs to move forward as well. I've seen on other peoples' builds that most are use a lower spring mount that sits behind the axle that fixes the problem. I'm not planning on keeping this axle under the jeep for too long and would like to keep it resellable as a drop in unit for someone else.

Do I cut it off and slide it forward or does someone make a spring bucket that will work here?

The only mount I've found that looked like it may work was from Ballistic.... Has anyone used this on a TJ frame?

There are 2 builds in the hardcore section that come to mind right off the bat...

"The Great Southern TrendKill"

and

"My 7/8ths Ton Jeep Build"

They both re-used the stock front coil buckets and moved them forward 6''. I am planning to do the same thing to my TJ and have researched/book marked these 2 threads for references. Good Luck.

For the lazy...FYI both of these threads were found in the FAQ sticky at the top of the Hardcore Page. In the Ultimate TJ Swap Thread. It's the greatest single piece of awesomeness that exists to mankind.

threads merged. Will keep in Hardcore for the time being. DSMTJ, please refrain from crossposting ;)

Toi add to that, if you are going through teh trouble of moving the buckets, unless you are on a budget go with a heavier duty and cleaner setup. Ballistic, Ruffstuff, mad4wd and other vendors here have some good options.

Not sure who makes it, but I saw someone posted here a relocation type bracket not long ago, the downside was it added a bit of height to the mount, what is not a big deal, but made the install look pretty easy.

I'd like to see the relocation kit...but when you already have the coil buckets it doesn't get much cleaner than this IMO.
