I am running a SYE and RE Long arm kit with 6" springs. Can the axle be centered since I am using the SYE????

well they are cutting the axil tubes to narrow it so u might as well have them do it right and cut the tubes to spec.

Save headaches i say

I agree, what would the spec be, or how can I find out what the spec is? I am going by the tomorrow to talk to the shop about it,it is a race shop that specializes in rear ends(not a 4x4 shop)
I am having it narrowed to 62 WMS-WMS any idea on what each side would need to be?

Thanks I guess I need to find out wha tthe offset is from the factory and decide if I can run it centered. I like the idea of having one spare for both sides...
If anyone knows the offset please post it here. Thanks again

It's offset. Pull the shafts and measure the difference - it should give you a pretty close idea.

On a spare set of D35c shafts out of a '99 TJ I have, if you measure the shaft part (inside the hub to tip) one is 29.5" long and one 28" long. HTH

I have access to a dana 35 empty housing if I took it to him with the 9" housing and told him to make 3/4" wider on each side he would know what to do. As stated before I am wanting to go to 62" WMS to WMs instead of 60.5".

You could always call Dynatrac, Currie or Sunray and see if they will give you the info on Monday. It sounds like you are building a 9". Depending on the third member the pinion yoke may be off center to begin with. SO watch out...

While you're going through all the trouble - I'd sugest you set it up w/ the correct off-set.

I took them a dana35 housing I had in the garage and gave it to them to take the correct measurements off of. I just told them to add 3/4" to each side. I hope this will be fine.....
