My 85 4runner is running very very very rich, black smoke pores out of the tail pipe if you hit the gas. I am thinking there is just WAY to much gas going into the engine. I tried swapping the fuel pressure regulator along with countless other things. Does anyone know a way to check the fuel pressure? I know in the factory service manual it shows screwing a special service tool into the fuel rail, but I have no idea how to get one of those, the dealerships don't seem to sell them. I know that my cold start injector isn't the problem, I both disconnected the wiring connector and blocked off the fuel that goes to it. It's also idling very low, if I adjust the idle screw all the way out it idles at 100-200 rpms. I was thinking this could be related to it running so rich, maybe the gas to air mixture is just to great? I know my timing is dead on, and I have new plugs, wires, cap, and rotor. My fuel injectors were flow tested and cleaned by rc engineering. I also tryed switching ECUs so I know thats not the problem. Could it be a possibility that the fuel injectors are pumping gas in all the time? What would cause that....I'm pretty much looking for any ideas or suggestions anyone has....
