cant find what im after so will make a post

what style converter do you guys like to run?
some reason i feel like a big converter in stock stall would work best and create less heat then a small conveter higher stall?

my rig is a square body with currently stock 5.3 th400 205 538 gears 39in boggers little mud but getting into more crawling and have a 600ish hp 408 ls that will go in once i work out the kinks

Your desired stall is relevant to the wheeling you plan to do. Physical size of converter is not . Heat is managed through your trans cooler. Upgrade it if it's running too hot.
High stall converters usually aren't suited for wheeling. Requires too much "winding up" to move ....loosing driveability. Unless you are building a mud drag rig, I'd stay away from high numbers. I tried a high stall unit taken from a drag truck my buddy had . I hated my rig with it. Had to wind up the engine to 4000rpm before it got moving. Spun all over, broke shit, bounced up shit I use to slowly crawl.
For crawlers and trail rigs I like between 1700- 2200rpm stall numbers. I run 2 coolers in line in the grill up front.
Others may have other opinions or preferences.

i plan on crawling so was guessing the 2k area but wanted input from others. doing some reading and see some recomended high stall but didnt seem right to me. i will have suitable cooling probly run radiator cooler/heater as we winter wheel and will get a trucool 40k as they seem to work great. but just never seen mention on large vs small converter talk

I don't think it makes a huge difference, except for fluid capacity.
Maybe inertia, but I would think that's more relevant to a manual transmission.
The more fluid there is, the longer it takes to circulate..so I would GUESS the bigger unit holds also more heat in the transmission since there is more of it to go through the cooler..
