We're headed up again this summer; should be there around 7/7. Does anyone know a good place to store our trucks & trailers in S. Tahoe for 4 days? Probably 3 or 4 trucks with trailers.

Thanks,
Diane

There is a staging area on the tahoe side at the beginning of the trail that you can park.
We know about this area but wonder how secure it is. Would you park a new Dodge 2500 & trailer there for 5 days unattended?

I guess we should have been more specific: Is there any secure place to park our rigs while we run the Con. Maybe a storage facility or somebody's yard?

Thanks!

I don't know of a place on the Tahoe side but on the Loon Lake/Wentworth Springs side you can store your junk at Robb's Valley Resort. It's safe and secure and the people there are awesome!

There are several campgrounds both South & North of the Rubicon turnoff along highway 89.

I've known some people who have paid & left their vehicles there.
Not 100% safe, but safer than parking on the street.
Kaspian,
William Kent
Sugar Pine

Another option is Meek Bay Resort.
It's about 5-10 minutes south on 89 from the turn off.

It's a little pricey to camp, but it has a boat launch, showers, & and beach.
It's owned/run by native indians.
I bet if you ask the right guy there, you could camp 1 night & leave your rigs in the parking lot at a discount (just a guess).

Some of the motels in south lake will let you leave your rig in their parking lot if you stay there the night before and the night after your run. Don't remember which ones, but I found a few when I was calling around last year

Parking

We have never had a problem at any of the staging areas yet. I did read about theft/vandalism problems at the Fordyce staging area this season so we paid to park at ShinnyBoo resort this last weekend. I am certain that you can pay to park your trailors at any Casino like the Motor Homes do. Not to mention just about any small motel will take you money to let you park in their lots.

Have fun!

how does leaving your to rigs that far away from the trail work out. i guess if your trail vehicle is streety legal, but what about non street legal rigs?

How much ya'll think is a fair price to pay someone to park one vehicle overnight(or one with a trailer) on their property on the Tahoe side?

Friends and I are taking a multi-day hiking trip from the Tahoe side(not Rubicon, but Desolation), and we'd like to park our truck at someone's house. I'd like to offer a fair amount to whomever lets us park there.

Yep, it closed at the end of last season. I sure miss stopping in and enjoying a burger and a cold draft :(
