i just aquired a 1980 toy pickup. the thing runs excellent except for when it is cold. the problems arent as bad when it is warm. anyways the problem is that when you barely press the gass the engine dies down(a miss or something) and then it accelerates. i can even make it stall if i hold the gas in the right spot. this gets kind of annoying after a while. when it is warm it idles at 1500 rpm and and the miss isnt as bad, but if i turn the idle down it wont idle when it is cold. so ive checked all the vacume lines and they look fine, so im kind of stumped . any help would be great, thanks

the carb has a water choke
it might have rusted out
it has a spiral thingy on the
inside with a tab on it to open
the choke sometimes they rust
and fall off, there is three screws
that hold it on,pretty easy to fix
just get one from the local P-N-P
