i thought we just went over this? and sorry its not part of your poll, but if i were getting chromo inners, as it seems you are no matter what -

as far as joints go... i dunno either longs or profields - which ever you want really, or where ever you can get the best deal. smurfs will be the cheapest and will require your cores. i dont know anything about the str of a birf elim kit with somethiing like CTMs in it (if thats what you were implying).

Id say DON'T go with the birf eliminater, IMO they are too untested for me to run with confidence, and IF it does break, you cant just throw in a stock inner or birf like if you break a long or cromo inner. The longs are definatly the most proven treated birf up there, so if money is no option, go with new style longs with the rings welded on and some 300M piggys:cool:  :D

I'll second this. Although, if you wanted the ultimate in strength birfield wise, money wasn't an issue, and you weren't breaking birfields constantly (you could make do with just carrying a trail spare), I would wait a while. There may be some interesting new birfields on the horizon.;)

I would go for the smurfields best price and mine havent let me down yet one indside let got after 4 months without grease and 4 grand clutch drop while attached to a fullsize. And it still worked just made alot of noise.
A friend of mine runs smurfs in his 351 powerd 85 and he broke his short side axel yesterday and the smirf is fine so....
Buy smurfs!

hopefully the smurfs will come back bender approved after this weekend.

otherwise it sounds to me like they are a pretty equal product.

i took my new non ringed longs out for their mayden voyage, with my new spooled front. did some thrashing and tire hops with the wheels turned, some 4 wheel peel, i would have without question broken stockers.

now back to the hole that claimed my last stocker :)
