Is the weight and length that big of a problem I have extended wheel base and like the idea of dual cases.
Also have many motors ,trannys and t cases to work with and just like the toy stuff.
What would be the biggest issue (and not just its to heavy)
example jeeps with V8 they seem to work

Mine wasn't to big of a problem. I mounted mine high in the tunnel and just cut out and rebuilt the shifter and sides area's of the tunnel with 16gauge sheet metal. The motor has about 1.5" of room under the hood. The setup still hangs lower then stock but not enough to cause a problem. Length for me was the only thing I didn't like. With 105" wheelbase the front shaft is so freaking long. And Im only running one case for now. I still may switch to a carrier bearing two piece shaft but well see.

The biggest issue is the fit around the transmission tunnel, but its pretty easy to remove the entire stock piece and build your own. I also trimmed the grill area to push everything forward a bit.

I was in a similar situation - I had a lot of toyota drivetrain parts laying around and happened upon a free samurai body & frame. I'm running a 22RE, '79 4 speed, and dual cases with an almost stock wheelbase. There wasn't much left of my body when I got it so I can't comment too much on other issues.

Dump the motor and just use the drivetrain Behind a 1.6 and RingR.

I put my engine back as far as I could, managed to fit the stock toyota radiator and fan shroud

Next ? for those running the Toyota drive train do you like it would you do it again ?
The money is a big issue with me for the 1.6 .When I have the other componets and then some .Its not really a building the ultimate rig right now more will this work good.
The toyota trucks seem to do real well so with the lighter chassi weight I would thik this would be a decent set up .

i dunno, I like the toy drivetrain, but not the heavy and long 22R, so Im going VW now in front of yota tranny and t-cases... The 16V would be nice, but not the oomph Im looking for... Ive got 2 friends with 22R powered zuks, and they work well, but both had to cut out the grill, and modify the tunnel... They work well though, even being front heavy...

I like the Toyota drivetrain and would do it again. My goal was a cheap trail rig and so far its working great. Is it the lightest or ultimate setup? NO. Was it cheap and easy to put together? YES.

I love my toy motor in my zuk and recomend the swap to anyone capable of some basic fab work. Mine is a bit different than what you're planning though, I have a 22r and a toyota 5spd out of a 2wd truck, I shortened my intermediate shaft off of the divoced zuk case and kept the zuk case instead of going yota. I think the biggest issue with any toy swap is driveline length. I run yj leafs with a 98" wheel base and am planning to extend the rear a few more inches to get a longer driveline in there.
