the first thing anyone who owns a toyota shoud do is put on new shackes to level the SOBs up. I guess I could be nuts but they all look like they sag from the factory, so add about 2in and the set even.

just my oppinion, and just like assholes we all have them!!!!

The rear shackles of the solid axle trucks were straight and the fronts had an angle at the top. The IFS toyotas run a shackle on the rear that also have an angle at the top. So to answer your question the front shackles for a solid axle truck will work on the rear of the IFS trucks but the rear shackle of a solid axle truck will not work on the rear of an IFS truck.

Why dont people just answer the questions asked? to rockcrawlingredneck.

As for the why bother changing? Maybe he has that as a parts rig (so he can do it for free if they work), maybe he doesnt have the steel, the chop saw (plasma cutter) to do it him self.

Easiest thing to do is if you have access to both trucks is just go out and take a couple measurements. That should answer all your questions.

A shackle is a piece of metal as long as the spring width is the same and the frame mount is the same it will work. I taught 4wheel parts whosale this once when I was looking for tow shackles for my samurai. I was told that they did not make tow shackles for sammys to which I instantly countered with the fact that I just put Jeep springs on the back of my sammy so why couldn't I put those tow shackles for a jeep on the front of my rig. The guy scratched his head and replied "I guess your right" so I bought my Jeep shackles and stuck them on my Sammy.
