Well, I'll put it this way: If you want to run 38s, and actually wheel it at all-The front clip has to take a trip. That's where I'm sitting now, trying to fit fenders to tube. I'm having difficulties making the factory grill/headlights even fit. I stretched the front clip out about 3 extra inches to clear the new aluminum radiator, the headlights will not fit at all, the blinkers had to get removed, and I still want it to look basically stock
. I may just give in to the dark side and just tube it all, but I'll still try to retain the center of the grill.
The rear is cut out as far back as you will want to go. I just chopped right through the middle of the gas filler(literally, my plasma torch reaches farther than I thought!!), I'll figure out how to fix it later
. Any farther back and you lose function of the rear gate, unless you don't need it, which will open up a lot of doors. Also, any farther back and I would have had to move the gas tank. Keep us posted on your progress. Here's a pic of it trying to stuff. After trimming, I kept only 1" in front of the taillights and cut it off even with the bottom of the taillights.
