I noticed in the November issuse of JP magazine a blurb on the crossover steering system for TJ,XJ,ZJ. I am having so clunking issues when turning and think it is the ball joints or other steering components wearing out. The noise is only there when turning not when going stright or in bumps. I searched for Trail Tech and came up empty. Has anyone tried this thing or have any information?

Check yer track bar mount. Probalby loose boolts. If it is a popping noise that occurs when you turn the wheel lock to lock with the vehicle stopped and it happens in the same place of travel, more than likely its the track bar mount. I weld mine on with at few stitches that could easily be ground off if need be

That is the URL I had from JP magazine as well. The site must be down. Is this a worthwhile modification? I think Currie has some similar products. I'm also having some issues with the power steering. Since I wnet mudding in June it has never been the same. Seems when it get up to operating temp turning effort increases. It also makes a whine/moaning noise and fights the turn. 4LO and the OX locker somtimes make wheelin almost impossible to steer. WHich is more likely to die the pump or the gearbox. I have noticed a small leak underneath the box where the pitman arm bolts to. That might just be a sela problem though. Any ideas.

That is the URL I had from a data sheet Mike handed me up at Sierra Trek.

I'm not sure what happened to the website <IMG SRC="smilies/confused.gif" border="0">

Hey Dan,

I got one of Mike,s business cards from Trek,
along with the flier too. I have the card at
home or in my truck, I'll put his number up
here as soon as I find the card.

BTW, his stuff is very-solid. very nice
work. anything more than this grade of
components would just be overkill.....
and the "trek" price at 275 was a killer
deal too...

(It's too bad I don't know more people by
face since I know we all must be crossing
paths form time to time without even knowing
it)

I ran it for awhile. Good points and bad. Its very, very stout. It requires a bunch of welding and clearance trimming, but nothing major.
Down-side is that 1 ton Dodge TREs (which he uses) use a weird taper. Niether the taper reamer he sends with the kit nor any I was able to find anyplace match it perfectly. The reamer he sends is very, very close, but on a TRE you really do want it perfect.
